"If you want to help me, bring me as many spellbooks as you can find. I WILL find a way to bring her back. Until I do, I'm not leaving her side. I may move her to my room though."

Yes.... To when he finally figures it out and saves her, perhaps? Maybe a month from then?

Several months. Yeah.

He sat at his desk in his room, her standing at his side, reading through perhaps his 600th spellbook since her becoming stone. "AHA!" He shouted, reading a spell, then quickly casting it at her. After it was cast, he sat back down and stared at her, waiting for it to take affect, and hoping it would work. He had grown out quite the amount of facial hair, and his hair was long. He also looked much much older than when she was turned, though it had only been six or seven months.

A loud thunk echoed through the room as Zoë fell to the floor, unconscious but alive. What few tears hadn't made it when she was turned fell from her cheeks and on to the floor.

He teared up and got down beside her, scooping her up in his arms.

She began to stir, looking up at him with her baby blue eyes.

He smiled, "You're back... I'm so happy..."

"Who.... are you?" Zoë asked, looking honestly confused.

"Rune. I probably look very different... I haven't shaved myself much since the incident."

She laughed weakly, "All this for little ol' me?" The tenshi asked, her eyes shimmering with tears that threathened to spill any moment.

"Yes. All for you." He said, holding her close to him.

She kissed him, sitting up shakily in his lap.

"I love you."

"I love you too." She said quietly, kissing him again. "What all did I miss?"

"Nothing important."

"Everything is important love."

Llama?

"Alright... We won the war. I remember getting told that a few days ago... And my sister had her eighth birthday. My birthday is in a few weeks." He smiled, "Let me get shaved and suitable for leaving this room, then we can go see my family. They'll be glad to see you." Rune stood, helping her up, motioned for her to sit in his chair, then walked over to his dressing area, which was simply the area by his dresser. He looked at her, "You don't have to leave, but if you could look away while I change, I would be grateful."

I was sleeping...

She chuckled and covered her eyes with her wings, looking away. "Is he dead?" She asked. "That man?"

"He's dead. I made sure of it." He said, undressing down to his underwear. He then went through his clothes and picked something out and quickly dressed again. He looked at her, "You can look again."

She uncovered her eyes with a smile, "Now go shave. Kissing beards is gross."

Rune nodded, "Okay." He walked into his washing room and quickly shaved his face, then he walked out, his hair still of considerable length. He looked at her, "I don't trust myself to cut my own hair, so it'll have to stay long until I can take a trip to the barber's."
