Trienna sat with her father in his throne, cuddled up against him, asleep.

Nightingale walked by, quietly picking the child up. She looked at Dallen with green eyes, seeming like she couldn't decide whether she was worried or sad. Her little boy was out fighting....

The seven-year-old stirred, "Put me down Mommy..."
Dallen looked at her, "Gale, it's going to be fine. He's an excellent sorcerer, and he's just as good with a sword as with magic. The chance that he'll be struck down is 2 in a million."

She burst in to silent tears, hugging her daughter tight and sitting on Dallen's lap. "I really hope you're right, Dallie."

"Mommy! Let me go!" She tried to wiggle away.
Dallen smiled, "He'll be fine."

Zoë stood beside Rune on the battlefield that had been made of a once peaceful village. She had her spellbook in her left hand. The tenshi looked at Rune, saying a silent prayer for his safety.

Rune looked at her.

She hugged him, "Before we go get ourselves killed, I need to do something, Rune."

"Yes?" He hugged her back, a little afraid himself, though not showing it.

She kissed him softly on his lips.

He kissed her back, smiling, "When this is over, become my queen?"

"Of course." She grinned, stepping back. "But for now, let's just win this."

He nodded.

Zoë ran through the crowds of battling people, stumbling over dead and unconscious men as she went. "RUNE!" She shouted, in an effort to find her prince.

Rune was doing his best to fight off five men at once when he heard her shout. He immediately pushed out of the group, stabbing his sword through at least three of them in the process. He ran in the direction of her voice.

"Rune!" She called again, finally zooming above the crowd, dodging arrows left and right.

He saw her and waved his arms above his head, "Zoe! Here!"

She flew down, landing beside him. "There's a powerful sorcerer on the loose. Turning men in to stone." She said, breathing heavily.

"That's not good. Not good at all..."

"We need to kill him." She said, furrowing her brow in sheer determination. "C'mon."

He nodded, "Lead the way."
