"The way he handled the guards on the way here was good enough that he may become one of us should he want to." Darmani chuckled, "He looks a lot like me. Its a little strange."

"We aren't from here. He is, but not from this time. He may very well be a descendant of yours." She paused, "He took me to see the bureau in our time when we arrived in Jerusalem after leaving our old home. It was abandoned and falling apart. Then we blacked out, and woke where you found us, nearly 700 years before the year we belong in... I don't know what happened... My family will never get to see me again... My parents..." Laura sighed, "I don't belong here." She looked down at her hands, at her stomach, "I just wanted my baby to be safe, and to know its father, else I never would've left my home in a country that doesn't even exist in this time... America..."

He patted her head and sighed, "I don't understand a word of what you just said, but I am sure you'll be fine."

She sighed.

Alright. Two kids. A girl and boy. I'll be the girl. Lexxia, because Laura chose her name.

"Daddy," Lexxia said, "I want to be what you are. An assassin. Do you think I could..." She trailed off, reaching for his sword.

I started.

He smacked her hand away, frowning. "No. Don't touch." He said simply, pulling his hood down.
The boy, Diyari, was sitting rather quietly in a corner of the room, reading a book on the Greek language.

"Please!"

"No means no, doll." He sighed. "Diyari, get outside and do something."
Diyari looked up, not saying anything, then got up and walked outside with the book.

"Can I come with you next time you go to the bureau at least? I want to be an assassin like you!" Lexxia asked, frowning.

"Women can't be assassins." Diyari said quietly, his voice cracking a little.
Ehan grimaced at his son's voice, then looked at Lexxia, "He's right."

"That's not fair.. Why not? I could be the best if given the chance."

"Women become doves." He said. "Medics."
"Where did you learn all this, Diyari? Never once have you been to the castle or the bureau."
"Books."

I've got until my phone dies in 30 minutes or so.

"That's not fair." Lexxia teared up, "I should be allowed to be an assassin if I want to be!" She ran outside and climbed up onto the roof. She curled up in the little roof garden there and started crying, before pulling up all the plants and crying more.

Let's hope it lasts, or you're able to plug it in to stay on.

"Hey, what'd those flowers ever do to you?" A boy's voice asked from a roof over.

"None of your business." She muttered, standing and looking over, then walking away, before leaping one more roof away, landing gracefully without a single stumble.

He did the same, performing a flip through the air and landing on his hands. "I'm Ben-Tzion." The boy said, moving a bit closer on his hands before getting back on his feet. "Who are you?"
