An hour later, Tri and her daughter were in the nursing room, rocking together in the rocking chair, when Gawnyll poked his head in, "Tri, I have a surprise for Sara. And perhaps you too, Dallas."
Sara looked up at her father when she heard her name and slid out of her mom's lap and wobbled over to him, "Daddy!"

Gawnyll opened the door and the dog there tilted her head to the side and then whimpered as she was hugged tightly by the toddler, backing away quickly, hiding behind Gawnyll.
